This announcement aims to establish a roster of qualified candidates who may be considered for future opportunities in various cities where operational needs arise. Candidates who meet the requirements, after an evaluation of their profile and experience, may be included on the roster, which will remain active for up to 24 months. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization fighting hunger. In Colombia, WFP’s support to the national government aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2 and 17, utilizing innovative tools such as cash transfers and local food purchases through farmers’ associations. WFP’s activities in Colombia focus on the most vulnerable populations, including victims of violence, marginalized communities, and ethnic groups. The goal is to rebuild and strengthen their livelihoods, ensuring they have consistent access to nutritious and diverse diets and increasing their capacity to recover and adapt to climate change. This is achieved progressively by building the capacity of local authorities to implement responsible programs that contribute to reducing food insecurity and malnutrition.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Associate and the technical guidance of the Human Resources Assistant, you will be responsible for performing administrative tasks and activities that contribute to the implementation of the organization’s Human Resources policies and procedures with a customer service focus. You will perform your work proactively and provide input on standard practices when required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (indicative and not exhaustive list):
Support Managers in carrying out the selection, recruitment and hiring processes for the personnel required for the various units and field offices, ensuring compliance with WFP human resources processes and procedures and the proper use of the Workday tool at each stage of the process.
Post job openings on the Workday platform, identifying appropriate filter questions and monitoring postings in order to take timely action when required.
Provide timely and up-to-date personnel information for entry into human resources systems.
Create and update physical and digital files for new staff, ensuring access to information and the confidentiality of associated documents.
Prepare human resources reports and documents as required (minutes, contract authorization forms, contracts, letters, etc.) ensuring the accuracy of the information and meeting the established deadlines.
Support in the organization of activities to improve communication and teamwork, and with the logistics of meetings held with all staff for special dates.
Address and resolve concerns of local staff in a timely manner with a customer service orientation on issues related to Human Resources rules and procedures.
Perform other activities as required by the Human Resources Unit.
MINIMUM STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Training:
Completion of secondary education. A professional degree in administrative sciences, social sciences, or related fields is desirable.
Experience:
Minimum four (4) years of progressive experience in administrative support tasks, specifically in the area of Human Resources, which includes at least three (3) years of experience carrying out selection processes.
Experience in preparing reports, minutes and communications.
Proficiency in office automation tools
Desirable experience working with international organizations or United Nations System agencies.
Experience working with web-based recruitment systems is desirable.
Customer service and attention skills
Ability to track processes without the need for constant supervision
Languages:
Fluent in Spanish. Intermediate knowledge of English preferred.
